OSHA Recordkeeping and Electrical Safety Course Offered
Failure to comply with MN OSHA regulations can result in harm to your employees, and citations and penalties for your organization during an enforcement inspection. To prevent those results, attend the training on November 4 from 8:30am-12noon at the Center for Research and Innovation. Experts from the MNOSHA Workplace Safety Consultation will present information on OSHA 300 log recordkeeping requirements and an overview of electrical standards for general industry, including the most common electrical citations. The participant fee of $59 covers all materials and speaker fees. Invest now to save expenses for your company in the future. Learn to Fireproof your Property
BJ Glesener, Minnesota DNR, will present information on how to fireproof your property at 3pm, October 18 at the Center for Research and Innovation. Hosted by the Bemidji Area Natural Resources Continuing Education Consortium (NRC), the presentation is free and open to the public. “White-Tailed Deer and the Landscape: An Expanding Relationship?” Coming Soon
Based on the success of the “Peatlands of Northern Minnesota: Ecology and Economy” workshop sponsored in part by the Bemidji Area Natural Resources Continuing Education Consortium (NRC) last spring, planning has begun for the second workshop to be held December 2 & 3, 2004. This workshop is expected to span a day and a half and focus on the ecologic, social, and economic interaction of white-tailed deer on the landscape. Additional information will be available as details are finalized. Academy of Lifelong Learning Continues Fall Series
The Academy of Lifelong Learning (ALL) fall series of 8 weekly presentations began on September 28 from 10-11:30am. The ALL is a learning in retirement network made possible with funding from the Minnesota Humanities Commission in cooperation with the National Endowment for the Humanities and support from Bemidji State University and the BSU Foundation. Professional Development Certificate in Human Resources is Coming Soon
The Center for Research and Innovation will launch a new on-line professional development non-credit certificate in Human Resources Management in January 2005. The 12-week course is designed for professionals who are new to the human resources field or human resources assistants and staff who provide technical or administrative support. The interactive design of the program will help participants build a network of resources and people that will last long after the course is completed.
